How To Build RSS Feeds

You can easily build RSS feeds if you know how. RSS is a
method that you can use to syndicate or distribute your
content. So for example if you have a web site with useful
content it is a way of distributing those links to your
content that will allow others access to it. People with
RSS readers can easily read your content without actually
visiting your web site. The way this works is that they
subscribe to your RSS feed using the RSS reader and they
view the content directly from the RSS reader.

If you know html you can easily make a rss file. Basically
a rss file consists of items. So for example if your web
page has a list of web sites that you recommend then these
would be listed in your RSS feed by title, description and
link. So all your web sites would be described in tags in
the categories listed above. In addition to this you also
need to add the standard header and footer tags for a RSS
feed.

Once you are done creating your RSS feed you need to save
it as a xml file. After this you need to validate your xml
to ensure that it meets the standards of a RSS feed. You
can use the Feed Validator service which is free on the
web. However, you can save yourself a lot time by using a
professional RSS feed creator like Feed Editor and automate
the entire process.

After you have completed your RSS feeds you need to let the
world know about it. You need to visit the most popular RSS
directories and submit your web site to their directories.
It will also be useful to ping the major services and
inform them that your weblog or RSS feed has been updated
with new content.
