Press Release Optimization is the Newest Optimization Method

Press release in simple word means an announcement about specific happenings of a company and about the launch of a new product. In this internet age, more and more people are accepting the idea that they will have to buy goods and services through the web. This is one reason why SEO or search engine optimization and other optimization methods of the web have become very popular with online site owners. Press release optimization is one of the relatively newer methods which is being implemented by many site owners to make their site rank at the top of search engines. Well to do successful business on the web, getting recognized by all the major search engines is important. Well if search engines do not recognize your site well, how do you expect to draw attention of visitors? The basic rule is that you just have to undertake press release optimization in the proper way to get maximum mileage out of this.

For press release optimization to be successful, one needs to take care of many things. The first thing is that the press release must be very well written. Well a newspaper publisher or an online publisher is flooded by press releases everyday. So the fate of most press releases is that they are discarded totally by the publisher without even a second glance. So giving an attractive title to your press release that will be used for press release optimization is half the work done. Once you catch the attention of the publisher this is half the work done. Give an equally interesting intro to your oppress release and make sure that you are talking about something new in your field of operation. Newer things are constantly happening on every field these days and this is the perfect platform for you to get recognized by all and become famous in a short time.

There are some basic errors that you should avoid while writing a press release. The sentences which you use must not be too long. This gives a completely professional look to your write up and makes it very readable. Avoid writing clichés, this is a thing of the past and now you can no longer attract attention from anyone for this. Take note that your writings do not become repetitive. This can be a huge disadvantage for you and you can end up losing on prospective clients. Press release optimization will help your company to become well known due to tall the newsworthy information which will be supplied to customers among many other things. Another important thing which you need to take care of for press release optimization is to write press releases which are keyword based. You want your business to be famous under certain name or categories and for this you can make sure of those keywords for writing the press releases.

Press release optimization needs to be done in the correct perspective to reach to meaningful conclusions. Before you go about doing this work or let a professional do the work, you just have to make sure that that you are well versed about all the different things which are related to press release optimization.

Do You Know the Difference Between Organic Search Listing and Paid listings?

According to the Pew Internet & American life Project, 62% of searchers are unaware of the distinction between paid and unpaid results. 38 % of searchers are aware of a distinction between paid and unpaid results. So what are paid and unpaid search results?

Organic Search Listing or unpaid search results are websites that are listed in Search Engine page results for free usually found by search engine spiders or robots and then ranked based on the formula by the search engines.

Spiders, web crawler or Robots is a program or automated script which browses the internet in a methodical, automated manner. Web Crawlers crawls the web by browsing most of the websites out there and tries to find new websites built. Whenever the web crawler visits a website, it takes a snap shot or a picture of that particular website and stores it in its database and indexes it to later bring the relevant websites up whenever we search for a keyword. The way search engines index and rank the site differs from one search engine to another search engine.

Organic Search listings are the websites that shown in the search engine page results when you search for specific keyword, which is free and in order to get this free organic search engine results the designers, programmers or the Search engine Optimizer should follow the guidelines provided by these search engines while building the website. Some of the formulas are. Having a keyword rich page Title, have a keyword rich Description, having reputed links from trusted websites, having keywords within the copy basically building a website for a normal user where they can find useful information. There are number of guidelines given by these search engines. I have listed only a few.

On the other hand, Paid listing or Pay per click is websites that are usually listed either on the top and or listed on the right side of the results where it says sponsored results. In order to get listed in those results, they have to pay the search engines to be listed there in those areas. Normally it is based on bidding for keywords. If you want your website to be higher on the paid search results, you have to be the higher bidder for that particular keyword to get on top of other websites. If you are bidding for highly competitive keywords, you will eventually have to pay more in order to get into the top listings.

Organic Search Results and Paid listings have their own advantages. If you are looking for a short term or a seasonal listings, paid listings are one of the easiest and fastest way to get in to search results, Organic search listings are long term and will take time to get into search results depending on how much you follow the guidelines and dedicate the time to optimize the site.

Web Site Promotion – Six Ways To Advertise Your Web Site I

Web site promotion is very important to anybody involved in internet marketing. Without promoting your site, you are unlikely to get much traffic and traffic is the life blood of any web site, irrespective of its content. Web sites are designed to be read, and if they are not read they may as well not exist. Here are five ways to advertise your web site that will guarantee a steady stream of traffic if done properly.

The first is making your site search engine friendly. That is not as difficult as SEO experts would have you believe, but it must begin from the moment you type your first html tag. Search engines read tables then columns then rows. So, if you have two tables, the spider will crawl table 1 first. It will then crawl row 1 of column 1 in that table. You must design your home page, which is the first page crawled by the spiders, with that in mind.

This article is not about SEO, but keep the above information in mind when you consider that the first 300 pages or so of your text is regarded by search engines as the most important. If your first table or first column contains nothing but navigation links, your site will be down-listed. Your title should be in bold text in H1 tags, and include, or be, the main keyword for your site, preferably the site name, but have a different title for each page. There are many sites that provide you with free SEO information. Read them and follow the advice given. Free advertising on the first page of Google is invaluable and definitely the best and least expensive type of web site promotion.

11 Reasons Why A Job In Search Engine Marketing Is A Good Move

Underemployed or unemployed? A new vocation's calling? Considering a job in the field of Search Engine Marketing. This industry should be at the top of your career change lists. Here's some reasons why:

1) The Search Industry Is On Fire

The current first dot-com bubble grows bigger and stronger every day and learned from the burst bubble in the late 1990s. One reason for this dot.com boom is the growth of the search engine industry as searches exploded into the mainstream over the past few years. Commerce is bursting to get seen by online searchers. Search giants like Google, Yahoo and AOL can't fail to make money because everybody wants a bit of the search action. There's no denying, search has a bright horizon before it.

2) One of Four Cutting Edge Jobs

According to a recent article on MSN Careers, the position of Search Engine Optimizer is considered one of four jobs on the cutting edge. If you're unsure what a Search Engine Optimizer (SEO) does, below is a definition provided by MSN Careers: "Search engine optimizers (SEOs) increase a firm's Web site traffic by improving its search-engine page rankings. This is an especially important task in today's Internet-driven world, where many customers first learn of an organization and its products or services through the Web. Wikipedia defines Search Engine Optimizers as well.

3) The Pay is Great Money

A job in the search industry can give a big paycheck. Typical salaries in USD include: Entry level, $30-45K; Three to five years experience, $50-75K; Five years or more, $75-90K; senior management level to VP level, $70-315K.

4) Four Years of University Aren't Needed

Because the search industry is relatively young, there's a handful of online courses and certifications offered in the field of Search Engine Marketing. Most search engine marketing practitioners are self-taught, learning the trade by experimenting with their own sites, researching trends, attending conferences and participating in discussion forums and so employers don't generally require SEO / SEM certification or a tertiary qualification as a pre-requisite for a position in the industry. Candidates with a marketing degree or specific industry certification in Search Engine Marketing may have an edge over their fellow applicants when the interview selection process comes down to the wire.

5) SEO School Online

Everything you need to know to become a Search Engine Marketer, you can learn online. To become an expert in SEO / SEM, extensive research is vital. Read everything relating to search on a daily basis: books, magazines, articles, forums, e-books, blogs and newsfeeds—and Google search research on search engine maximizing. Experimentation with your own sites, or finding guinea pig sites to practice on such as those of friends, family or charity sites can aide until the methods that work for you yield the best results. Programming knowledge is not a pre-requisite for SEO jobs, but it does help to learn basic HTML. There are plenty of free HTML tutorials online. Consider taking an online certification course in one of the many Search Engine Marketing disciplines, too. These courses are usually tutor-led and designed to fast track your SEM training.

6) You're The Boss!

Because most of the work you'll be doing is online, Search Engine Optimizers and Search Engine Marketers often have the freedom of choice to work for an employer, work from home and/or freelance. Many SEO / SEM freelancers end up hiring workers and starting their own company due to the massive demand. This gives search engine marketing experts the work from home lifestyle that others only dream of.

7) Demand Didn't Downsize

As mentioned in relation to search engine salaries, there are virtually more jobs than skilled marketers to fill them. The growing demand means Search Engine Marketers can pick and choose their jobs and/or clients and the more skilled marketers are head-hunted regularly. For Search Engine Optimization firms, there are plenty of clients to go around and rarely a need to advertise for new business. Another indicator of high demand is the sheer number of search-related job postings seen on employment sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com.

8) It's About a Trend

There's something urbane and today about people in search that I can't quite put my finger on. There's a constant buzz around them. They seem to be in the know well ahead of the rest of us and incredibly enough, it's not only cool to be a technology nerd, it's hip to be square.

9) The Skills Are Global

Skills in search engine marketing are portable and global. You don't need to be at a desk, in an office or on the phone all day. You don't even need to meet your clients. You literally need a computer and an Internet connection. As the Internet is the universal equalizer, you can service clients in any country in the world and in many languages. You can compete with one-man operations and Fortune 500 companies on the same level playing field. The flexibility of the search industry is a huge advantage over other career options.

10) You Make the Trend Before The World Does

Now, think about it. You're the Search Engine Optimizer getting paid ridiculous amounts of money to ensure a business's profileability, so of course your clients are going to have the heads up in what's coming around the bend for their potential and actual consumers. Since the Internet's a global powerhouse—and the latest news of the search engine giant Google no longer censoring Chinese content—clients seeing these trends and broadcasting them on their sites will pay the Search Engine Optimizers--i.e. YOU!—top dollar as their web traffic increases in placements. Like real time real estate in search engine layouts and content, it's all about "Location, Location, Location!"

11) The Work Can Be A Joy

Search is a fascinating industry. With all the hype, daily gossip, corporate take-overs, start-ups and geek toys, boredom is at a minimum. Flexible work hours, low start-up costs, ability to be your own boss and the excellent income, keeps job satisfaction high for Search Engine Marketers as a solid career option.

Whats Important for Search Engines?

I recently had a question from someone who was looking for some possible SEO consulting with me. He was in the process of a redesign and wanted to be sure not to make any mistakes along the way, which is super-smart! The time to be looking at SEO is definitely in the beginning stage of any design or redesign project.

The interesting part of the email was this person's misconceptions about what he thought were important factors for the search engines. I'd like to share those points with you, with my comments following each one:

* Little or no Flash.

This is a huge misconception to many who are trying to design search-engine-friendly websites. There's nothing inherently wrong with using Flash and no reason to avoid it altogether. What you do need to avoid is an all-Flash site, as well as Flash navigation. But that's it. And even if you have those things, there are workarounds.

* All scripts should be called from external files.

This is a great idea to keep file size down and make it easy to update your pages, but it's got nothing to do with search engines or how your pages are ranked within them. Search engines have long known how to ignore code that is of no use to them. Whether your scripts are right there in the source code of the page or called up externally will have no bearing on your rankings or search engine relevance.

* The site should be designed using CSS as extensively as possible.

Another myth. CSS doesn't have any special properties that search engines like better than tables or any other HTML code. Again, it may make it easier for you to update your pages, or to use your content for other things, but it's not an SEO technique that will increase rankings or relevance.

* The CSS should be called from external files.

Same as calling up scripts in external files — nice to do, but not a search engine issue in the least.

* There should be no comments in the code. It should be added to an FAQ or Doc-type file.

Why not? I'm not sure where this myth came from, but I suppose if you're thinking that file size is going to affect your search engine rankings, you might also believe this one. It may have also come about because some people used to think that adding keyword phrases to comment tags would help search engine rankings, even though it didn't. Comment tags have long been ignored by the engines, and because of this, you can use them as much or as little in your source code as you would like. I always comment out bits of text and code that I no longer wish to use but that I may want to add back in later. It's absolutely, positively not a problem!

* A large percentage of the code on each page needs to change from page to page so that the search engines don't see the pages as duplicate content.

Nope. You certainly do NOT have to change the code in your pages to avoid duplicate-content issues! Website templates have code that is exactly the same from page to page. This is good and normal and certainly fine with the search engines. One would have to think that the search engineers were really dumb if they were going to penalize pages because they used the same design template from page to page! Sure, you don't want the same exact *content* on every page of your site, but even that is not generally a problem if it's a few sentences here and there. (See my recent article at Danny's Search Engine Land site on the Myth of Duplicate Content.)

* All picture links should have text links under the pictures.

No reason for that at all. Image links that make use of the image alt attribute (aka "alt tags") have always been followed easily by the search engines and will always continue to be followed. They're followed even without the alt attribute, but the words you place in there tell the search engines and the site users exactly what they'll be getting when they follow the link. It's essentially the same thing as the anchor text of a text link.

* DO NOT use drop-down or fly-out menus using JavaScript.

This is fairly good advice; however, there are very easy workarounds if you have to use JavaScript menus for some reason. The "noscript" tag is a perfectly legitimate place to recreate your menu for those who (like the search engines) can't do JavaScript. I've been using this technique since 2000 or so when my website was designed with JavaScript menus, and it's definitely not a problem. I just haven't gotten around to redesigning my site with a more crawler-friendly navigation. Certainly these days, a CSS menu would be a better option.

* Must use basic HTML link navigation (textual navigation, no JavaScript mouse-over, and no image map graphical navigation).

Yes and no. JavaScript links are definitely a no-no. But there are plenty of crawler-friendly image maps, and like I mentioned previously, graphical links are A-OK with search engines.

* All pages must be VALIDATED by an HTML validator and all style sheets need to be VALIDATED through a CSS validator.

Why? This has nothing to do with search engines. It's nice to do, though.

* The majority of the site will be static, as static pages are easier for search engines to crawl and rank properly.

Dynamic pages are just as easy to crawl and rank as static pages. Most websites today are dynamic because they're simply easier to maintain. The search engines have figured out how to crawl and rank them just fine for many, many years now. It's true that there are specific things you need to watch out for when creating a dynamic site, but most developers are aware of the worst of the issues. You certainly should consult with an SEO if you're changing content management systems, or if you're having problems getting your dynamic URLs spidered and indexed. But there's no reason to have only static pages on your site because you're worried about the search engines being able to index dynamic pages.

* The site needs to be browser-compatible and screen-resolution-compatible.

This is another thing that's nice to do for your site visitors, but it has no bearing on search engine rankings or relevance.

Phew! I hope this helped clear up a lot of misconceptions that anyone else may have had. Please don't get me wrong — I do agree that most of the things listed here are great design tips that can help you to create an awesome, user-friendly website. I just want to make it very clear that they have nothing to do with SEO, rankings, spidering, indexing, etc.

Choosing a Domain Name for Your Business

So you have decided to start a business online. Your dream is to become a huge success, however, in order to stand out from the crowd you will want to focus on choosing a domain name for your business that is related to what your site is about.

People type in your domain name when they are looking for your website in particular. It will look something like this: www.mywebsite.com. It is your virtual real estate address.

The best thing that you can do for your website in order to get repeat visitors and free word-of-mouth traffic is to give it a memorable domain name. A domain name that people can remember without having to look it up all the time or having to bookmark it and losing it among all the others.

Some people will tell you that all the good names are gone, not true. I have listed several guidelines you can follow that will make your domain name and business a more popular web destination.

1. Choose a Dot-Com

As a rule, choosing a domain name for your business that ends with a dot-com or .com is the best. Dot-Com is considered the Main St. of the virtual real estate world. When someone types in a domain they automatically use .com regardless of what the actual extension is.

Even though .org and .net were popular for a time and later .biz and .us, people always come back to the .com – and it really never matters just how many country code domains are being used like .cc, .ws, .to, .cn and others.

2. Opt For Something Memorable

If at all possible, you will want your business name to also be your domain name. So if your flower shop is called Sandy's Flower's, you will want to try and get sandysflowers.com if it is available. If it isn't, you could try it with a dash. Sandys-flowers.com or something descriptive such as sandysflowersonline.com or prettysandy'sflowers.com. Be creative and come up with something that is suitable to your business name and memorable to your clients.

If you do choose to use a dash in your domain name, some search engine optimization experts suggest that dashes somehow attract more free traffic to your site, you must remember to say the dashes in any commercials or audio products; so it would be "sandys dash flowers dot com".

Most folks will forget to type in the dashes when typing in your domain name.

3. Get Another Variation

If you can get a good domain name without the dashes, then you should consider getting the same domain name but with the dashes in between the words. You will be able to put them both on your server as mirror sites to get the benefits of search engine optimization and no one else will be able to take that name. If someone types it in with the dashes it will redirect to your site.

You might want to also consider getting an extension such as .org or .net to use as a sister site to your main .com site. Your .com domain name can be used for your main product, your .net for your forum and .org for some of your background business info.

When choosing a domain name for your business and if the one that you really wanted is not available, you can use your creativity along with trying a variety of different combinations. This should enable you to come up with a memorable domain name that will attract clients to your website.

Building Credibility For Your Adult Site

Let's face it - the days of TGP and even MGP (thumbnail galleries and movie galleries) are largely over. Nexus TGP submitter even terminated their services about a year ago. And unless you are willing to invest in your own semi-TGP domains most of this is over. Surfers have seen it all before. Alternative lifestyle marketing on the Internet is growing up rapidly.

With blogging and fora becoming increasingly important, it is getting to the point where you actually have to be a part of your niche(s) in order to be successful in them.

Understanding how niches work

The first thing you need is a more or less general understanding of how alternative lifestyle niches work. They attract two kinds of surfers - the "general porn interested public" and the actual niche crowd. The "general surfer" will visit your site once or twice (mainly attracted to the initial surprise or looking for the kick), is unlikely to actually join your site and in general is just a waste of bandwidth (and your marketing time and effort). What you are after is the true fetishist, lifestyler or kink-oriented surfer. These - provided you have something to offer - will join and are very likely to stay on board for quite a while.

It is important to understand that individual niches usually harbor quite a few financially powerful people, in other words, Triple A class consumers. And the majority of any niche crowd are at least A class consumers. In other words, people with money to spend and credit cards to use.

They are, however, also usually critical and self-aware consumers - they want meat for their money. They want quality, the want real information and most of all they want to be taken seriously. Bear in mind that someone who is gay is taking huge risks anyway - in the career area, the personal area, the family area. Just a bunch of pictures from naked guys won't get these people excited - certainly not for a long time. The same is true for people into BDSM, into cross dressing, etcetera.

Working with your information

These days you need to work with your information. For example on sites such as the one your are currently reading. Adult article marketing is extremely difficult since most article publication sites shy away from adult-oriented subjects.

For adult marketing blogs and fora are a much better option ...... provided you have something to say that people will want to read. "I have 10.000 nude pictures" won't do that. Everyone has these and we have seen them all before. So you need to be able to offer good and solid quality information. And you need to be able to respond to posts on blogs and fora.

That not only requires knowledge and understanding, it also requires a certain tone and lingo. For example, I myself am hetero sexual. And as much as I may understand the gay scenes, that does not mean my language will strike a cord. Simply because I am not gay. I can walk the walk, but I can not talk the talk.

So, you'll need people form within the niches you are targeting to help you out here. To post on blogs and fora and to help and guide you and, most importantly, build credibility, because that is what it is all about. And that is also true for social networking on sites such as MySpace, Tagged and others.

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine optimization is very important if you are looking to expand your internet exposure however, it seems that many people are victim to bad SEO (search Engine Optimization) practices. The major criticism is that a lot of people are paying completely too much for little or no results. In addition, a lot of them fall prey to bad SEO techniques. If you plan to hire an SEO pro in the future, I recommend you to follow the steps below before hiring any SEO firm or individual:

A) Find out how well-known and experienced an SEO firm is before you talk.

Do they have a considerable number of clients list?
Are they available?

B) Examine their portfolio.

What kind of results have they accomplished?
Contact a few of their clients. Were they satisfied with the SEO work that was done?

C) Consider and confirm their methods?

How will they optimize your site in the major search engines to reach your keywords?
Do they use organic methods? Some individuals or companies use doorway pages, hide text in the background, utilize re-directs and other blacklisted methods. Stay away from these because search engines consider these techniques as spam.

D) Get a least three proposals from other SEO companies.

Look at each one carefully. Are there similarities? Proposals will assist you know which companies are honest and which are trying to sell you something that doesn't work.
What is the cost? The cheapest isn't always the best; however, the highest price may not be attached to a complete and feasible course of action. Try to find an individual or a company that will give you what you want within your SEO financial plan.

E) Get everything in writing.

Look over the document carefully. Be sure it covers everything you have discussed, including methods of achieving your desired results. Have the copies signed by both parties. If the job is a large one you may want to consult a lawyer.

F) Clearly state the terms of payment.

While most SEO companies will not do any work for free or agree to a results based pay scale, many knowledgeable SEO professionals will not shy away from a base plus performance incentive package. I am not a firm believer in prepaid contracts. The majority of SEO professionals will abide by the 50% up front, 50% upon completion standard. Make sure all financial terms are as clearly defined in your contract as the actual scope of work. This will protect all parties involved in the event that expectations are not met.

All in all, try to do your best to train yourself on SEO. Have a basic understanding of SEO terminology and SEO methodology. Anyone offering SEO services should not have a problem explaining how they intend to get you results.

Ten Ways to Use Your Personal Domain Name - Part 2

Introduction

This is Part 2 of this article. If you haven't read Part 1, please read it first.

5. Online Data Storage

If you need to store data you can establish a domain name and simply transfer files to your site. This could be used to backup your computer files or to deposit some other data like video or audio files that would otherwise take up a lot of space on your own hard disk drive.

If others needed access to the data, you could allow them access either with or without a passport.

6. Provide Information About Your Club

This option is similar to some of the others, but focuses on one club (or even a group of related clubs) eg, if you had a small club called "Al Ain Ladies Walking Club" you could obtain a domain name "al-ain-ladies-walking-club.ws" and provide information about the club including perhaps contact details of the members, meeting times, membership rules and photos of club events.

7. Create a Directory

Creating a directory is a good way to get people to a site and monetize it with Google AdSense advertisements. Say for example you decided to set up a directory for Sydney commercial lawyers. You choose the domain name "sydney-commercial-lawyers.ws", place three groups of AdSense adverts on each site (and perhaps some affiliate links to topics that would interest lawyers) and then sit back and wait for visitors.

You could begin with free listings for the first say, 200 lawyers and then charge an annual fee for each listing thereafter. You make money on the listings and the AdSense advertisements.

8. Use Your Domain Name as a Portal to Other Sites

This is different from the directory sites in that you line up a number of colleagues who sell say, ebooks and place links to them at your portal. Call your portal "Ebooks for All Ages" or something that will interest visitors and work to get it a high listing in the search engines. You can also advertise this type of site. When people come to your portal and click to visit the ebook sites, guess what? They click your affiliate link and you get a commission on anything they buy at the other end.

Such a portal can be divided by genre eg, children's books, Internet marketing books, recreation books etc. So the service you provide is a one stop shop for people seeking ebooks. This is preferable for them than having a site with 500 ebooks.

9. Gathering Email Addresses for a List

So, you are the owner of several Internet sites and you want to capture email addresses to up-sell those who have visited or purchased your site. On your other sites you place a link asking visitors to sign up to your monthly stocks and shares advice newsletter which is free. Rather than having a sign-up box on each of your sites, you direct them to your sign-up page which has details of your newsletter, perhaps a bonus for signing up and the sign up boxes.

10. Your Articles Site

You are a rocket scientist researching the benefits of using zinc hydroxide propellant in conjunction with a special mixture of ammonium nitrate to propel rockets farther and faster than ever. You want people to read your research articles so you set up a site called "Dr Erikson's Propellant Research".

You download your research files, in Adobe PDF format and perhaps charge a small handling fee for each download or give them away free. You could even collect email addresses so that you could keep interested people up-to-date.

Conclusion

There are many things you can do with your own domain name. I've mentioned a few to try to stimulate interest ... maybe you can think of a few more. The fact is that it is now very inexpensive to have your own domain name and use it for all or any of the above. So what's holding you back?

How Important is It for Search Engine Marketing Companies to Be Google Qualified?

If you are thinking of starting your own search engine marketing company, or you are looking to use a company for your own website, it is crucially important for this company to be Google qualified. There are a number of reasons for this. First, Google is one of the most prominent search engines on the web. It is also a global leader in various forms of advertising. By being qualified through Google, a company will have the necessary foundation to earn large revenues from their clients. Most importantly, these companies will have a great deal of confidence from their customers.

A company that is Google qualified is one that has a great deal of experience. They are also able to meet the rapid changes in the market whenever they occur. In the last few years, search engine marketing has become one of the most competitive industries on the web. Due to the fierce competition, you must have up to date information on the latest advances that are occuring in the SEM industry. Google can't make changes to its structure overnight, and if a company is not ready for these changes, it will be difficult for the company to succeed. If you are looking to use the services of a Google qualified company, it is important for you to make sure they have inside experience. They should be able to show you a track record of success.

One thing you will notice about many of these companies is the high prices they charge. While the prices are not necessarily a bad thing, it is important for the company to back up their fees with real results. Too many search engine marketing companies charge large amounts of money without being able to show a track record of success. It is these companies you will want to avoid. One thing that you will also come across on the Internet are consultants. These consultants may be freelance, or they may be affiliate with a company. These consultants will essentially charge you money to show you how to use SEM to your advantage.

While some of these consultants have a great deal of experience, many do not, so it is important for you to differentiate the good from the bad. No matter which company you choose, it is important for you to make sure they have established credentials. They should be able to proof they are Google qualified, and having a fancy website is not enough. Their training and strategies should come from the leading search engine companies, and these are MSN, Google, and Yahoo.
